SUMMARY
At Green Frog Roofing, we recently had the pleasure of revamping the front gables of the Leichhardt family home. Our skilled team of professionals got straight to work, starting by disconnecting the power with the help of an L2 electrician. Next, we carefully removed the barge boards and top caps, as well as the lower timber piece adjoining the roof tiles on the upper gable. We even removed the left side barge board and disposed of any asbestos found on the property, following all NSW OHS policies to the letter.
With the old materials cleared away, we then set about installing all-new, high-quality components. We started with under gutter flashing made of Colorbond and made sure to reinstall the gutter to the highest standard. Next, we fitted new FC boards to the lower left side barge and installed brand-new barge boards and fascia and return boards. To complete the look, we also fitted a new board adjoining the tiles on the upper front gable and installed new eave lining where necessary.
Our team then turned their attention to the finishing touches, painting the new barge boards and A sections in a color to be determined. The customer already had paint for the barge boards, and we worked with them to achieve a final look that would complement the off-white A frame color. Finally, we installed new top caps and reconnected the power, leaving the Leichhardt family with a front gable that looked and functioned as good as new.
It’s important to note that all the timber we used in this project was H3 treated for outdoor use, ensuring long-lasting durability and protection against the elements. At Green Frog Roofing, we’re always proud to deliver expert results, and this project was no exception. If you’re looking to restore or revamp your home’s gables, don’t hesitate to give us a call!
